The Challenge

A leading lawn care machine manufacturer was experiencing excessive downtime on its self-propelled aerator line. This manufacturing line was driven using the competitor’s chain, which was heavily guarded and difficult to lubricate. As a result, this led to premature chain wear and failure.

The Solution

To solve this issue, Diamond experts recommended our Duralube LIVE chain. Duralube LIVE chains are constructed using a special powdered metal bushing which is injected with lubrication. During service, the lubrication is released into the pin/bushing joint to supplement the lack of a regular lubrication schedule.

The Result

After replacing the competitor’s chain with Duralube LIVE, wear life increased from 1 month to 12 months. This increase saved the manufacturer $2,023 after one year and is projected to save $10,115 after five years.
