The Challenge

A major US oil company was experiencing problems during its directional drilling operation. Directional drilling equipment is used in the oil and gas industry to drill into oil reservoirs which can not be reached using conventional vertical drilling. Due to these high shock loads, this caused the competitor’s chain to consistently break and led to unnecessary downtime for the oil company.
