ISO/British Standard Diamond ACE® Chain

Diamond ISO/British Standard Diamond ACE® chain is manufactured to ISO standards (IS 606, BS228, DIN 8187) for dimensions, interchangeability, and sprocket fit. All carbon steel chain components are plated with Diamond ACE, an electrically bonded specially formulated zinc-nickel alloy and non-hexavalent chromium coating. The plating serves as a protective barrier that oxidizes before the carbon steel base chain, thus preserving the chain’s physical and structural integrity. This offers an excellent defense against water, salt water, and humidity.

ISO/British Standard Diamond ACE Chain
Pin Link Plate: outer link plate
Bushing: hollow cylinder press-fit into the roller link plate (pin articulates inside the bushing)
Riveted Pin: a long solid cylinder case-hardened and press-fit into the pin link plate, which are then side-mashed (riveted)
ACE Plated Coating: heat-treated carbon steel as the base material with ACE (Anti-Corrosion Exterior) coating
Roller: free-rotating hollow cylinder which fits loosely over the bushing
Roller Link Plate: inner link plate

Features & Benefits

  • Materials

The Diamond Difference begins with allow steels that meet exacting standards of impact tensile and fatigue strength.

  • Fabrication

Diamond manufactures each component to exacting standards for optimal performance. What makes this chain “corrosion resistant?” To create ISO Diamond ACE® chain, we add ACE plating to carbon steel to provide extra protection against high-corrosion environments.

  • Heat Treatment

Strict control of atmosphere, time and temperature optimize the material properties – increasing strength, durability and wear resistance.

  • Shot Peening

Shot peening process improves fatigue resistance by applying consistent compressive stresses.

  • Lubrication

Enhanced corrosion protection and extended wear life are provided by initial factory lubrication and “hot dip” process.

  • Preloading

Chains are dynamically preloaded to firmly seat the pins and bushings. This reduces initial run-in and extends wear life.
